In early December 1941 twelve renegades unfit for regular military duty wererigorously trained and molded into a special operations unit. The twelveman unit took on many extremely dangerous high risk missions. These menwould pull off the impossible then disappear only to turn up in a newlocation. After hearing of their many exploits against the Nazis AlliedCommand began referring to the renegades as the Deadly Dozen.
